Hirofumi Yamashita
(died 2000) was a Japanese ichthyologist and environmentalist.For 25 years, he opposed the reclamation project in Isahaya Bay, one of the world's largest wetlands, compelling the Japanese government to scale back the massive dike project and reevaluate the environmental costs of reclamation.
