Description
Summary:A study of heat transfer rates through a wall of air conditioned buildings is presented in this thesis. The transfer of energy as heat is always from the higher temperature to lower temperature and the heat transfer stops when the two medium reach the same temperature or in equilibrium. The Microsoft Visual C++ software is used to analyze the heat transfer rate into wall building by using Thermal Response Factor method. The parameters and thermal physical properties of the material are obtained in the analysis. The local weather data for Kuantan City has been used for all the result presented, the data for temperature starting from January until December in year 2008. The temperature used in this project was the typical temperature for six days in one year. Each typical temperature represent for two month as January and February month. The parameters and thermal physical properties used were wall thickness, wall insulation, wind velocity and density of material. The comparison between result from ASHRAE Book and computer programming showed the percentage error is around about 36.98%. Thermal Response Factor method using Visual C++ software can be used to determine the heat transfer rate through a wall building which is has the differences of thermal physical properties.
