In most door applications, RFID is utilized as the primary technology for data identification and this data is used as a main source for controlling the operation of a door. In this project, RFID technology is also used for data identification, but the data obtained will be interfaced with XBee Pro wireless technology. Then the data will be sent wirelessly to the receiver XBee Pro which in turn controls the opening and closing of a door. So, the need for wired communication between the RFID system and the door is eliminated. Furthermore, the door can be controlled from long distance as wireless technology is implemented into the project. Intermediate between RFID and XBee Pro wireless technology is a microcontroller that works on the instructions build from the C programming language.
