Summary:simple mathematical formulation to evaluate the post buckling load of orthotropic circular plates with both simply supported and clamped boundary conditions are presented in this paper. The formulation is on the basis of radial edge tensile load developed in the plate because of the large deflection of the plate. The numerical results achieved from the present formulation in terms of linear buckling load parameters for different orthotropic parameter values are compared with the results from the literature.
