Method: This retrospective record review study was conducted in five Optometry practices around Bandar Puncak Alam. The study was to observe the pattern of soft contact lenses prescribed by Optometrist. The contact lenses details such as type of soft contact lenses, contact lenses materials, wearing modality, and the soft contact lenses’ manufacturers and brand prescribed from January 2014 to December 2014 were retrieved from patient’s record. Five Optometry practices were chosen which was within 20 km from Bandar Puncak Alam. Results: A total 398 of soft contact lenses prescribed were analyzed using Microsoft excel. The contact lenses wearers were mostly female resulted 87% and only 13% were male with age from 11 years old to 50 years old. Most of contact lenses were prescribed to young adults aged from 11 to 20 years old. Conventional contact lenses were prescribed the least which was only 2 out of 398 contact lenses and the rest were disposable contact lenses. For contact lenses design the colored cosmetic (54%) and spherical (33%) contact lenses were among the highest prescribed. The study also showed the contact lenses wearer more preferred daily wear (72%) contact lenses and hydrogel contact lenses compared to extended wear (28%) and silicone hydrogel contact lenses. Ciba Vision company was hit the popularity among contact lenses wearer around Bandar Puncak Alam with total of 132 out of 398 soft contact lenses prescribed. Conclusion: The using of silicone hydrogel among population was very low as well as the using of multifocal and toric lenses.
