The objective of this study is to study the economic effectiveness of biological and chemical method in controlling rat population and to determine the best method between biology and chemical method in term of economic practice. The data has been collected from two different companies which is Eldred Estate, Johor for biological method and Pedas Estate for chemical method. The data that collected are by using secondary data and interview. The data was analyzed by using descriptive analysis and statistical analysis (T-test). From the result, it was shown that the biological method is less effective in term of economic for controlling rat population in oil palm plantation. By this study, all of agencies recommended to use chemical method for controlling rat population in oil palm sector.
