Aquaculture production has increased rapidly to around one million tons, while inland fisheries contribute in excess of 200,000 tons. The study has two main objectives: (i) to review the status and needs of the fisheries, aquaculture and aquatic resource management in Vietnam; and (ii) to identify key areas of intervention that can reduce poverty, increase production and improve environmental management of the sectors on a sustainable basis. The study concludes by summarizing major development priorities and next steps for the sectors to develop on principles of shared management in fisheries and aquaculture planning, development and management. 2012-06-20T17:40:36Z 2012-06-20T17:40:36Z 2005-02 http://documents.worldbank.org/curated/en/2005/02/5716520/fisheries-aquaculture-sector-study-final-report-fisheries-aquaculture-sector-study http://hdl.handle.net/10986/8533 English en_US CC BY 3.0 IGO http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/igo/ World Bank Washington, DC Economic & Sector Work :: Other Rural Study Economic & Sector Work East Asia and Pacific Asia Southeast Asia Vietnam |
