This paper offers a review of alternative imputation methods that have been employed to provide poverty estimates in such contexts. These range from estimates on a nonmonetary basis, estimates for specific project targeting or tracking trends at the national level, to estimates at a more disaggregated level, as well as estimates of poverty dynamics. The paper provides a concise and accessible synthesis, which serves as an introduction to the literature. The focus is on intuition and practical insights that highlight the nuanced differences between the existing methods rather than technical aspects. 2018-04-12T18:54:22Z 2018-04-12T18:54:22Z 2018-04 Working Paper http://documents.worldbank.org/curated/en/448791523466902450/To-impute-or-not-to-impute-a-review-of-alternative-poverty-estimation-methods-in-the-context-of-unavailable-consumption-data http://hdl.handle.net/10986/29673 English Policy Research Working Paper; No. 8403 CC BY 3.0 IGO http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/igo World Bank World Bank, Washington, DC Publications & Research :: Policy Research Working Paper Publications & Research
