City managers in developing countries face increasing pressure in achieving these goals because of rapid urbanization, the larger responsibilities following decentralization, and the economic challenges of globalization. Based on experience in Bangalore, India, the authors argue that effective, forward-looking urban management requires a much better information infrastructure than is currently available in most cities. 2014-05-06T22:47:46Z 2014-05-06T22:47:46Z 2003-03 http://hdl.handle.net/10986/18194 en_US Policy Research Working Paper; No. 3002 CC BY 3.0 IGO http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/igo/ World Bank, Washington, DC Publications & Research :: Journal Article South Asia Asia South Asia
