Using a simple but powerful empirical methodology, the authors analyze the roles of prices, occupational choice, and educational choice in accounting for household income and its contribution to inequality. It casts doubt on the grand theories of growth and income inequality that have dominated discussions in development economics. It paves the way for a full-blown, micro-based general equilibrium theory of income determination and income inequality. 2013-08-06T20:37:41Z 2013-08-06T20:37:41Z 2005 http://documents.worldbank.org/curated/en/2004/10/6417381/microeconomics-income-distribution-dynamics-east-asia-latin-america 0-8213-5861-8 http://hdl.handle.net/10986/14844 English en_US CC BY 3.0 IGO http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/igo World Bank Washington, DC: World Bank and Oxford University Press Publications & Research Publications & Research :: Publication East Asia and Pacific Latin America & Caribbean East Asia Latin America |
