Description
Summary:This note provides selected measurements of public sector size for the countries and territories of the Americas and discusses the resulting differences across countries and territories and across the different measurements of size. The key conclusions are that public sector sizes differ considerably across countries and territories, that there are differences in the public sector size ranking of countries and territories depending on which measurement is looked at, and that there is a wide variety of reasons that may account for or explain why a given country has a large or a small public sector.
