Description
Summary:Among the most energetic force that control the beach morphology are the waves. The each alteration profile mainly depends on the way that the incident wave force distribe along the profile, as the dissipation and refraction being the major mechanisms. rule the dissipation effect have been widely studied, the phenomena of wave refraction on the beach environment has drawn less attention and is still poorly known, especially in the east coast region of Peninsular Malaysia particularly in Pahang. In order to acknowledge it's important, the present study demonstrated the physical model Pahang coastal area. The model is based on two-section profile scheme; particularly the hydrodynamic and wave refraction models. The computer simulations of 2D (two-dimensional) numerical modelling systems was conducted using the MIKE-21 software package as the model coupling setup was integrated using the hydrodynamic model (MIKE-21 HD) and the spectral wave transformation model (MIKE-21 SW). The selective domain for this study are Teluk Chempedak, Pantai Sepat and Kuala Pahang as representative for different coastal morphological settings and environmental system in order to comprehend the processes involved in transforming the beach morphology.
