The purpose of this study was to examine the stress level among pharmacy students that relates with their quality of life. Method Ninety –eight students agreed to be the respondents for this study. Data was collected by using a set of questionnaires based on a portion of Perceived Stress Scale (PSS). The questionnaires contained three main sessions such as their problems in study, their feeling and thoughts regarding pharmacy students’ life and the ways how to overcome their stress in daily life. Data was analyzed by using descriptive analysis with SPSS. Results Out of 98 respondents, 39 (39.8%) are male with the rest 60 (74.5%) are female. The students are reported to have moderate stress level. The mean of PSS obtained for males is 24.26 ± 6.53 while mean PSS for females is 27.44 ± 5.19. However, the correlation is found to be low as r = 0.023 and p= 0.074. Among the students with high stress score mean above 26.17, 3 (9.09%) are found to be high systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure; 14 (42.42%), 7 (21.21%) and 13 (39.39%) are found high in BMI, in waist circumference and are high fat percentage respectively. Conclusion or Take home message The findings revealed that majority of students are capable to control their stress and showed the pharmacy programme did not burden to them. Most of them manage to respond positively to stressors that they may have experienced during their study time. Although they faced many difficulties and burdens from day to day, they managed to overcome it through positive behaviors and some stress management activities. 2013-03-13 Conference or Workshop Item PeerReviewed application/pdf en http://irep.iium.edu.my/30373/1/The_study_on_stress.pdf May, Khin Soe and Mohd Noor Zaidi, Muhammad Ridzuan and Lwin, Mar Htike (2013) “The study on stress level measurement among pharmacy students by using Perceived Stress Scale”.
